Jean A. Butler

LEOMINSTER - Jean A. (Gilles) Butler, 86, of 100 Main Street, Leominster, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Health Alliance, Leominster. She was born in Ware on June 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Francis and the late Anne (Riley) Gilles. Mrs. Butler lived in Hudson for many years, and has resided in Leominster for 24 years. She was a Secretary at Leominster Hospital for several years, before retiring in 1991. She volunteered for Leominster Hospital Guild, and was a member of Senior Citizen Group of Leominster, Leominster Homemakers, and past president of Hudson Emblem Club. She leaves her husband of 61 years, John R. Butler of Leominster; one son, Robert J. Butler of Leominster; and one sister, Mary A. Holland of Hudson, MA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008 from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. in Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster.
