Jean (Perry) Michaud

Jean (Perry) Michaud, born on March 25, 1956, in Lowell, Massachusetts, was a beacon of strength, resilience, and warmth. 

Jean was a proud alumna of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies. Her educational pursuits paved the way for her rewarding career in education. She served as an Administrative Assistant at her alma mater, supporting countless students and faculty members with her meticulous work and infectious positivity. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jean was a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a beloved sister. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by her family, whether it was shopping for the perfect gift for a loved one, soaking up the Florida sun at the beach, or simply sharing a meal at the family table.

In 1983, Jean and her husband Dave moved their family to Athol, and Jean and the children would travel with Dave for his work. 

Jean is survived by her sons Lawrence Doucette and his wife Michelle, Robert Doucette and wife Sherrie, Henry Michaud and his wife Heather, and Ethan Michaud and his partner Sarah Crosby, her sister Mary Lou Lamarche , and her beloved grandchildren Chase, Cole, Kylei, Jacob, Lily, Evan, Taran, and Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Perry, her husband David Michaud, and her son Marshall Michaud.

As we mourn the loss of Jean, we also celebrate her life and the love she shared with all of us. In the words of Henry David Thoreau, "The most I can do for my friend is simply to be his friend." Jean did this and so much more, and her love and friendship will forever be remembered.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 11:00 AM- 1:00PM at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, located at 110 New Athol Road, Orange, Massachusetts, 01364.

The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the same location

A burial will take place at Lower Cemetery in Phillipston on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1:00PM.
