ORANGE- Jeanette H. (Desrosiers) McNeal, 92, of Orange, died Tuesday, June 5.
She was born September 30, 1925, in Orange, daughter of the late Napoleon and Julia (Therrien) Desrosiers. Jeanette grew up in Orange, in the house that her father built. She and her husband, Loyd, moved to Somerville where they raised their family. She later moved back to Orange after retirement. She cherished the summers spent at the cottage in Atkinson, NH and surrounding areas that they would visit. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, arts and crafts, reading and poetry. Her sense of humor, many stories, and the holidays spent at her home with family will be missed. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Orange and St. Anne’s Church in Somerville.
Her husband of 63 years, Loyd H. McNeal, died in 2008. She was also predeceased by her son, Dennis P. McNeal in 2013, her grandson, William J. Lund in 2006. She was the last survivor of her siblings.
Jeanette leaves her children, Linda Burke and her husband, Daniel of Billerica, David McNeal of Dracut, Larry McNeal of Somerville, and Michael McNeal of Dracut; 14 grandchildren, Jeani Kimpland, Christopher Lund, Jennifer McNeal, Amy Lecain, Ryan McNeal, Brenda McNeal, Keith McNeal, Carrie McNeal, Mindy Clower, Cheryl Logan, Lauren Bonnell, Aaron McNeal, Erika Oliveira, and Tayla McNeal; 35 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Tuesday, June 12, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
The funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 13, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Church, 19 Congress St., Orange. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.
