Jeanette H. (Mercier) Walsh

GARDNER - Jeanette H. (Mercier) Walsh, 86 formerly of Jerome Ave., Gardner, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in the Legend Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner. She was born in Gardner, on April 14, 1927, the daughter of the late Leo S. and the late Helen M. (Maillet) Mercier. Jeanette was a lifelong resident of Gardner. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1945 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She worked at the former Florence Stove and for Dr. Levesque in Gardner. Jeanette also assisted her husband in his business Newcomb & Walsh, Inc. She volunteered for many years at the gift shop at Heywood Hospital. Her fondest enjoyments were spending time with her family, traveling with her husband and playing tennis. She leaves three daughters, Kathleen M. Piper of Gardner, Christine A. Walsh of Santa Barbara, CA, Maureen J. Walsh and her husband Edward “Bud” Stanley of Gardner; two sons, Robert L. Walsh and his wife Julie of Gardner, David P. Walsh of San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, Jesse Piper of Leominster, Carley Walsh of Gardner; one sister: Leona H. (Craft) Roy of Ramona, CA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Robert F. Walsh who died in 1994. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 9 to 10:30 a.m.in the Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner, followed by a Memorial Mass Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church 166 Cross Street, Gardner. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Gardner will be private.
