LEOMINSTER - Jeanne I. (Cormier) Arsenault, 77, of 126 Fourth Street, Leominster, died Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, Lake Avenue, Worcester after an illness with her family by her side.
She was born in St. Marie, New Brunswick, Canada, on November 26, 1932, the daughter of the late Clovis and the late Helen (Cormier) Cormier.
Mrs. Arsenault was raised and educated in St. Marie, New Brunswick, Canada where she later worked as a schoolteacher. Upon her marriage to David J. Arsenault she moved to Montreal, Canada to begin their family. Mrs. Arsenault moved to the United States with her family in 1959 and was a longtime resident of Leominster. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and was Eucharistic Minister at the Church. She was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order of the St. Bernard Fraternity and the Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and considered by her loved ones to be a dedicated and faithful servant of God.
She leaves one daughter, Cecile Enwright of Dallas, TX; four sons, Jean Paul Arsenault of Leominster, Ralph Arsenault and his wife Linda of Winchendon, Gerard Arsenault and his wife Karrie of Westminster, David Arsenault, Jr. and his wife Tacia of Ashburnham; one sister, Doris Cormier of Hooksett, NH; one brother, Louis Cormier of Montreal, Canada; eleven grandchildren, Shawn Arsenault, Eric Arsenault, Sheila Arsenault, Elizabeth Enwright-Bryson, Nicholas Enwright, Kelly Arsenault, Ashley Arsenault, Cheyenne Arsenault, Cierra Arsenault, Charlie Arsenault, Brandi Arsenault; nine great grandchildren, Zach Arsenault, Jason Arsenault, Natalie Arsenault, Connor Arsenault, Annalis Arsenault, Dylan Bryson, Zachary Bryson, Rachel Bryson, Isaac Bryson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first-born daughter many years ago and by her husband of fifty-two years, David J. Arsenault on November 12, 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Cecilia's Church Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
