GARDNER - Jennie J. (Hajkowski) (Penzinski) Comeau, 94, formerly of Gardner, died Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Heywood Hospital in Gardner. She was born in Gardner on September 9, 1916, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and the late Matilda (Kuprel) Hajkowski. Jennie was a lifelong resident of Gardner. She was a communicant and lector of St. Joseph's Church, the Holy Rosary Sodality and St. Cecilia's Choir. She also worked as the church's housekeeper for many years. Jennie was an excellent cook and studied baking at Monty Tech. She loved to knit, crochet and make her own clothing. She leaves six daughters, Alice Dorsey of Braintree, Margaret Wade of Lakeworth, FL, Eleanor Landry of Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Landry of Baldwinville, Cecilia Archibald and Irene Seitz of Gardner; two sons, Walter Penzinski of Gardner, and Richard Penzinski of Hunter, WA; one sister, Theresa Pastore of Leominster; nine grandchildren, fifteen grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Penzinski, in 1959; also by her son, John Penzinski, in 1977, her second husband, John Comeau, in 1995; by her four brothers, Joseph, Anthony, Vitold and Walter Hajkowski; and by four sisters, Mary Karpowicz, Frances Raffa, Clara Lupaczyk and Stacia Stone. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner. $(document).ready(function(){ });
