Jennie H. Slomski

GARDNER - Jennie H. (Buraczewski) Slomski, 94, of 270 Waterford Street, Gardner, died on Monday, November 22, 2010 at her home. Jennie was born in Gardner on April 4, 1916, the daughter of the late John and the late Katherine (Astramecki) Buraczewski. She graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1934 and was a lifelong resident of Gardner. She worked as a clerk for local department stores and G. R. Godfrey. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of AARP. Jennie was a wonderful mother and a caring woman who enjoyed traveling and gardening. She leaves two sons, Leonard Slomski, Jr. of Gardner and Paul Slomski and his wife Emily of Somers, CT; also many nieces and nephews. Jennie was predeceased by her husband of forty-three years, Leonard J. Slomski and by her three sisters, Mary Buraczewski, Irene Flis and Sophie Cichonski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner. A calling hour will be held Saturday, November 27, 2010 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Joseph's Church, 358 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA 01440. $(document).ready(function(){ });
