Jeremiah William Connolly

PETERSHAM - Jeremiah William Connolly III    84 years old Died peacefully at Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner Ma Saturday July 27, 2013 after a long battle with Pneumonia.   Born November 24, 1928 in Haverhill Ma Son of the late Jeremiah William Connolly Jr. and Sadie Kennedy Connolly Sisters Christine Coughlin, Evelyn Trachia and the late Lorraine Blasi Predeceased by his wife Joan Mooers Connolly who passed away in 1996 and his daughter Sharon Joan Connolly who died as an infant in 1950 He leaves behind his son Allan Connolly and his wife May Connolly of Petersham Ma, his son Jeremiah William Connolly IV “Jay” and his wife Laurie Connolly of Sandown NH and his daughter Lisa Connolly Naimo and her husband Charles Naimo of Lunenburg Ma.   He leaves behind eight grandchildren Rebecca Connolly Legare, Bryan Connolly, Jolynn Connolly, Robert Connolly, Jeremiah Connolly V, Shelby Naimo, Harrison Naimo and Keira Naimo.  He also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren  Nathan, Ally, William, Cordelia, Patrick, Joshua, Aiden, Kira, Samantha and Violet.   Jeremiah was a veteran of the United States Navy, after leaving the Navy he worked for the railroad and in 1954 began working for the Department of Public Works in Haverhill Massachusetts as a Heavy Equipment operator he retired in 2006 after 52 years. He was a member of the VFW, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of the men’s bowling league at the West Congregational Church in Haverhill ma.  He enjoyed time with family, trips to Hampton beach, and especially Dunkin’ Donuts for his favorite cup of coffee.   Pastors Deborah Arnold and Russell Arnold, who have held Jeremiah in their spiritual care, will officiate a private family service at the Greenwood Cemetery in Haverhill Massachusetts.
