Gainesville – Joan Maureen (Cossidente) Dahl, previously of Inverness, FL and Ashburnham, MA, passed away on August 8, 2018. She was born on February 3,1933 to Ralph J. Cossidente & Elizabeth (Wolf) Cossidente in New York, New York.
Joan grew up in Queens, New York City and attended Hunter College, majoring in Home Economics. She worked, at various times, for the Census Bureau as a supervisor and the US Army Corps of Engineers, and as a Social Survey Worker for the University of Michigan. Joan was married to Carl E. Dahl for almost 50 years, until his passing in 2004.
Joan was a member of the Patriot Daylily Society and the New England Daylily Society. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and gardening, especially daylily breeding and propagation.
She leaves her children; sons Christopher E. Dahl and his wife Anna of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Geoffrey E. Dahl and his wife Linda of Gainesville, FL, and daughter, Lisa E. Fitzpatrick of Oak Bluffs, MA. Sisters; Helene Heeseman and Theresa Brooks of Inverness, FL, seven granddaughters, one grandson, five great grandsons, two great granddaughters, three nephews and two nieces.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30am at South Cemetery in Oakham, MA.
