GARDNER- Joan T. (Trombley) Blake, 80, of Gardner, died Saturday, November 1, in Wachusett Manor, after a short illness.
She was born October 19, 1934, in Manchester, NH, daughter of the late George and Louise (Humphrey) Trombley. Joan grew up in Manchester. She graduated from Manchester High School, Central Westbrook Junior College in Portland, ME, and Massachusetts General School of Nursing.
After moving to Gardner in 1969, she and her late husband, Paul, owned the former Mr. Donut, later becoming Dunkin Donuts.
She was an active member of the American Legion Post 129 in Gardner, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She leaves four sons, Michael Blake and his wife, Debbie of Ashburnham, Robert Blake and his wife, Laura of Royalston, Stephen Blake and his wife, Mary of Phillipston, and David Blake of Gardner; ten grandchildren, Matthew, Richard, Danyel, Tyler, Seth, Vanessa, Corinne, Andrea, Cody, and Chelsea; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Janet Spargo and her husband, Bill of CT.
She was predeceased by her husband, Paul Blake, and her sister, Beverly.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, November 5, at 10:00 A. M. in Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Baldwinville.
Calling hours are Tuesday, November 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 129, 222 Elm St., Gardner, MA 01440.
