ORANGE - Joan E. (Hine) Wanderlick, 66 of 44 Tully Road, died Thursday, December 14, 2006,in the Wachusett Extended Care Facility, Holden, MA.
She was born in Gloversville, NY, on July 14, 1940, the daughter of Carlton Hine and Gladys (Gardner) Barter.
Joan was raised in New York and resided in New Jersey from 1962 to 1969 when she moved to the Orange area and has resided between Warwick and Orange since.
She loved flowers, animals and she was well known for all of her volunteer work locally with providing healthcare to eldery neighbors or volunteering for church functions. She was a kind hearted and helpful person.
She leaves one daughter, Iris L. (Wanderlick) Prue of Athol; three sons, Blaine R. Wanderlick of Athol, Jeffrey E. Wanderlick of Merrimack, NH, and Christopher Wanderlick of Orange; her mother, Gladys (Gardner) Barter of Chesapeake, VA; one sister, Patricia Nellis of Caroga Lake, NY; one brother, Robert Barter of Chesapeake, VA; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Gerald R. Wanderlick who died November 15, 2006 and by her son, John S. Wanderlick who died in 1989.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 18, 2006, at 11:00 am in the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Tully Cemetery, Orange.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 17, 2006, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol, MA.
