ATHOL - Joanne M. (Dodge) Johnson, 42 of 540 Pleasant St., Athol, died unexpectedly Sunday, September 12, 2010 at her home. She was born in Burlington, VT, on January 18, 1968, the daughter of the late Norman and Maryanne (Batutis) Dodge. Joanne lived most of her life in Athol, graduating from Athol High School with the class of 1986. Following high school, she worked for Athol Table Shop until it closed. She then went on to work at Nichols and Stone in Gardner, and currently worked at the L.S. Starrett Company in the customer service department for the past ten years. Joanne was a wonderful daughter, and a loving and devoted mother to her two beautiful children, Kolby, age 8 and Kassidy, age 2. She was fun loving and lived life to the fullest and immensely enjoyed being surrounded by her children and many friends. Besides her two children she leaves behind her mother Maryanne Dodge of Athol; numerous relatives in the Athol area as well as Vermont and Canada, and a world of friends and co-workers. She was predeceased by her father Norman J. Dodge, who passed September 1, 2007. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 7:00 pm in the Fiske Funeral Home, 1356 Main Street, Athol. Burial in Gethsemane Cemetery will be private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kolby and Kassidy Fund, c/o the Athol Credit Union, 513 Main St., Athol, MA 01331.
