LUNENBURG - Joanne M (Richard) Pitre, 55 of 45 West Acre Dr., Lunenburg, died Sunday, October 26, 2008 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident earlier in the day in Leominster.
She was born in New Brunswick, Canada, on May 31, 1953, the daughter of the late Leo L and the late Gladys M. (Herrell) Richard and came to the United States settling in Leominster many years ago.
Mrs. Pitre attended schools in Canada and later attended schools in Leominster.
She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church. She worked as a shift foreman at International Polarized Co. in Marlboro for many years.
She loved motorcycling and did lots of traveling around the country. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves two daughters: Melinda M. Pare and husband Benjamin of Leominster, Rebecca Pitre of Leominster, two grandchildren Corina Pare and Benjamin Pare II of Leominster; two sisters: Phyllis Richard of Moncton, New Brunswick Canada, Carol Schincke of Leominster; and four brothers: Bryan Richard, Francis Richard, Wayne Richard and David Richard of Leominster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to St. Cecilia's Restoration Fund, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA 01453
