John Q. Adams Orange – John Quincy “Jack” Adams, 81, of East River Street died June 29, 2013 at the Poet’s Seat Nursing Home in Greenfield.      Jack was born in Athol, Massachusetts, April 3, 1932, the son of Samuel and Charlotte (Ducher) Adams.    He grew up in Athol and lived in Athol most of his life and attended Athol schools.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, being honorably discharged as a Sergeant.        Jack worked in several area mills as a machinist until his retirement.  He enjoyed gardening, visiting his many friends, especially at MacDonald’s  and also enjoyed traveling to Iowa for visits with family and friends.  He enjoyed spending winters in Punta Gorda, FL, collecting model cars, but especially enjoyed driving his 1933 Chevy and Jeepster.        He leaves his wife of 22 years, Jean A. (Pelto) Hickey Adams; his three children, Robert, David and Bonnie Adams, all of Athol; a brother-in-law, Chester Gleba of Sacramento, CA; a sister-in-law, Rose Adams of FL and his longtime friend, Pat Lucier of Gardner and her children, Donna Adam of Gardner, Mike Lucier of FL, Richie, David, Bobby Lucier all of Winchendon and Gary Lucier of Gardner. He was predeceased by his youngest son, Steven.      At Jack’s request no formal services planned and his wishes was to have his cremains scattered over the Mississippi River.   Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol is handling the arrangements.  For those wishing to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com.     $(document).ready(function(){ });
