ASHBURNHAM - John E. Bresnahan, 71 of Ashburnham, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston. He was born in Lawrence, MA, on August 25, 1950, the son of the late John G. Bresnahan and the late Dorothy Ann (Hebert) Bresnahan. John grew up and lived most of his life in Ashburnham. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in Fitchburg with the class of 1968. He attended St. Michael's College. John was employed at the L.S. Starrett Company in Athol for over 15 years. He previously worked as a service manager at Roberts Chrysler, Matthews Chevrolet, Salvadore Chevrolet and Fitchburg Dodge. He dedicated over thirty years to the Scouting movement in the Ashburnham and Gardner area, ending his scouting career with the revival of Troop 9 - from Holy Rosary Church at Annunciation Parish. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, camping, gardening and tractors. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Donna M. (Rollins) Bresnahan; two sons, John W. Bresnahan and his wife Shauna of Gardner, Kevin J. Bresnahan and his wife Tabitha of Gardner; and three grandchildren, Hailey, Connor and Colin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Denis Church, 85 Main St., Ashburnham. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
