John D Coles

 HUDSON----John D. Coles 77 of Hudson died December 22, 2011 in Kindred Healthcare in Marlborough after an illness.  He was born January 29, 1934 in Leominster MA the son of the late Job Coles and Evelyn (Lynch) Coles.  John is survived by his wife of (40) Years, Trudy (Halloran) Coles of Hudson, his daughter Kathleen Provencher and her husband Kevin of Worcester, his son Michael Coles of Waltham and his grandsons, Luc and Dylan Provencher. He is also survived by his sisters Bette Shimkus of Worcester and Alice Liddy of Clinton, and several nieces and nephews.  John graduated from Leominster High School and Worcester Vocational School and attended Salter College. He served as an Airman 1st Class in the US Airforce from 1955-1959.He later went to work for the government as a Systems Analyst at Fort Devens until his retirement in 1995.He was a lifetime member of the Hudson ELKS and AMVETS Post 208 in Hudson. He was a communicant of St Leo’s Church in Leominster. John will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love for the outdoors and his devotion to his family.  Johns funeral will be held on Tuesday December 27,2011 from Simard Funeral Home 14 Walker St Leominster MA with an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial in St Leos Church 128 Main St Leominster. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Leominster.  Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday Morning December 27, 2011 are from 9am-10:30am.  In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the Veterans Homestead 69 Grove St Worcester 01608 and may be left at the funeral home.
