John G. Frigon

John G. Frigon Athol – John G. Frigon, 46, of 201 School Street, died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his home after an illness.      John was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, February 26, 1966, the son of Guy and Norma (Melanson) Frigon.  He grew up in Gardner and Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada where he graduated from high school.  He moved back to the Gardner and Athol area where he has lived most of his life.      John was an assistant residential director for the Seven Hills Foundation in Worcester for several years, previously working at Simplex for 18 years as the lead man in a paint shop.  He was a Master in Hap Ki Do, having recently earned his 4th degree black belt from his instructor Master Bryan Lagimoniere of the Athol Martial Arts Academy. John loved the martial arts, and especially loved instructing his own students. John loved contact sports, especially hockey, which he played throughout his life and coached youth hockey for several years. He was an avid Montreal Canadians and New England Patriots fan. Most of all he enjoyed his children.        He leaves a daughter, Melissa Frigon and her friend Brian of Pittsburgh, PA and a son David Frigon of Athol; his father Guy Frigon and his wife Monique of Blue River, Quebec, Canada; a sister, Christine Fortunato and her husband Barry Boucher of Gardner.  He also leaves an uncle, John Frigon and his wife Ruth of Gardner; three aunts, Jovette Brun and her husband Eddie of Templeton, Patricia Frigon of Bouctouche, New Brunswick, Canada and Gisele Scott and her husband Neil of Harvey Station, New Brunswick, Canada; three nieces, Angelina and Sabrina Fortunato and Kerry Boucher, all of Gardner; a special cousin, Tammy Haggerty of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada as well as several other cousins and members of the Songer family.      A Celebration of John’s Life will be held Sunday, November 4th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Tully City Council Club, 365 Tully Road, Orange, MA.  Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol is directing arrangements.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to: www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
