Leominster-John J. Gallant, 81, passed away peacefully in the hospital with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. John was born in Grande Digue, New Brunswick, Canada. The son of the late Victor and Aurore (Babineau) Gallant.
John resided in Leominster, MA for the past 59 years. He worked as a self employed carpenter for many years. He enjoyed watching sports, summer camping with his family and playing
baseball with his boys and their neighborhood friends.
John leaves his wife of 61 years, Patricia"Pat" (Melanson) Gallant and their four sons and their wife’s Peter Gallant and Wendy, Victor Gallant and Donna, Rick Gallant and Debbie and John Gallant and Kate; along with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Gallant, one sister, Florine Landry both of Canada; many nieces and nephews and his mother-in-law, Margarita Melanson who is 99 years old.
John is predeceased by two granddaughters, Christine Gallant and Breana Gallant and one great-granddaughter, Christine Kelly Collins.
John's funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia’s Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
Burial will follow in the St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Leominster, MA 01453
Calling hours will be in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster, MA 01453. on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
