GARDNER - John Robert "Jack" Hallet, 66, of 71 Lake Street Apt. E208,
Gardner, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 21, 2011 at his home.
Jack was born in Nashua, NH, on October 1, 1945, the son of the late
Edward Pulsifer and the late Verna (Goodale) Hallet Jr. He was raised
in Milford, NH and graduated from Milford High School with the class
of 1963. Upon his graduation, he studied liberal arts at Keene State
College in NH for two years.
Jack co-owned and operated a painting and decorating business,
Goedecke & Son, in Bedford, NH, from 1965 to 1972. He was a member of
the Shriners and a 32nd Degree Master Mason in Milford, NH. In 1972,
he joined the United States Army National Guard and served until the
early 1990s. He was an instructor for the Massachusetts Military
Academy and taught mission and leadership skills as the supervisor of
logistic systems. Mr. Hallet was awarded the United States Army
Achievement Award in the field of biological and chemical training in
1994. While in the National Guard he resided at the Otis Air Force
Base in Bourne, MA for a few years before coming to Gardner in the
late 1970s.
While in Gardner, Jack volunteered at Heywood Hospital's emergency
room and mental health unit. He resided in Phillipston briefly,
before returning to Gardner several years ago. Jack proudly
celebrated over 25 years of sobriety and enjoyed fishing with his
friends.
He leaves two sisters, Susan Aiesi and her husband Gary of Pawleys
Island, SC, Virginia DeCastro and her husband Fred of Murrells Inlet, SC; two adopted
daughters, Marcey Joy and Tracey Freeman of NH; an aunt and uncle,
Adrienne and Ralph Lorette of Mount Vernon, NH; his nephew and niece,
Jason Aiesi and his wife Jessica of Conway, SC, Jo-Ellen Aiesi of Pawleys Island, SC; his
great nephew and great niece, Ian and Emerson Aiesi of Conway, SC; two
cousins, Jennie Keatts and Pam Owens of Seagrove, NC; and his best
friend and former wife, Diana Look of Gardner.
Funeral services will be private.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be
