ATHOL - John Henry "Jack" Andrews IV, 31, of 96 Sanders Street, Athol, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 9, 2010 in the Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield.
Jack was born in Albion, Michigan, on June 21, 1978, and moved to Athol with his family in 1983. He attended local schools and was a member of the Green River House club in Greenfield.
He was a sports enthusiast and participated in softball leagues each summer in Michigan and played soccer, basketball and football locally. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots. He played many sports at the Y.M.C.A. in Athol and earned many trophies over the years. Jack also studied Tae Kwon Do for two years in Greenfield.
He also enjoyed video games, Disney movies, and had an impressive baseball card collection. He had a passion for music and loved playing the guitar. Jack was a very thoughtful, friendly and generous man and will be greatly missed.
He leaves his mother, Yvonne D. (O'Dell) North of Athol; his sister, April A. Tatro and her husband Aldo of Athol; his step father, Joseph Bourgeois of Gardner; his paternal grandmother, Eleanor Andrews of Albion, Michigan; three aunts, Sheila and Lynn of Michigan, Dawn Gertner of Ohio; an uncle, James O'Dell of Chicopee; cousins, April of Ohio, Lisa, Jimmy, and Crystal of Massachusetts; a very close friend of the family, Leslie Needham, Jr. of Gardner; his best friend, Richard Gray of Greenfield; also many more cousins, relatives and friends in Michigan and Massachusetts,
He was predeceased by his father, John H. "Johnny" Andrews III on February 16, 1993; by his paternal grandfather, John H. "Jack" Andrews, Jr.; and by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Vera O'Dell.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol. Burial will follow in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 15, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
