John J. Jasins Jr.

John J. Jasins Jr. of Athol Massachusetts passed away in early March 2025. Born February 19, 1937, John excelled as an athlete, with a focus on baseball. He went on to play baseball at Notre Dame and then at Boston University. We worked at New England Electric, the predecessor of National Grid, for multiple decades where he was a dedicated employee.

John retired back where he grew up, in Athol MA. He spent his time golfing multiple days a week, reading, and spending time with friends. John was a devout Catholic and attended Mass regularly at St. Frances of Assisi in Athol.

John is survived by his nephews, Fred Jasins of Washington DC, and John Jasins of Thailand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and John Jasins, and his sister Milda Jasins and brother Alfred Jasins.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange, MA on Friday, March 21st from 2:00-4:00pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 24th at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 101 Main Street, Athol, MA.

The burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Fielding Way, Athol, MA and all are welcome to attend to honor John’s memory
