Orange – John Chester Leeman Jr., 74, of Columbia Ave, Orange died March 27, 2017 at home.
John was born on July 9, 1942 in Stoughton, Ma to the late John Chester Leeman SR and Alice (Sylvester) Leeman.
He worked for Emerson & Cummings in Canton, MA as a supervisor for government contracts. He worked for L.H. Hewett & South Shore Paving. John was the owner of the Vegetable Bin on Partridgeville Rd in Athol from 1974-1984, and he did some private contracting as well.
He enjoyed fishing, photography, building model airplanes & boats. He acquired his pilot’s and captain’s licenses , wrote beautiful poetry and had a book published. John also enjoyed writing letters to the Editor at the Athol Daily News.
He leaves behind his daughter; Michelle Leeman of Athol; son; Joseph F. Leeman & his wife Nikki of Athol; two brothers; Joseph C. Leeman and his wife Susan of Athol and Fredrick R. Leeman of Athol; four grandchildren; Anthony Sandova, Jessica Hall, Keely Leeman, and Jordan Leeman; ex-wife and mother of his children; Eileen Perini and her husband Frank of Athol and long time friend Dawn Williams of Orange.
A graveside service will be held at a later date by the family. There will be no calling hours.
