John Donald MacEwen

ATHOL – John Donald MacEwen, 70 of Athol, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare. John was born on December 3, 1950 in Athol to the late Donald E. MacEwen and the late Doreen (Manning) MacEwen. He grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the Class of 1968. He was a self employed carpenter in the Athol / Orange area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, all the New England sports teams, puzzles and family gatherings. John is survived by his daughter: Laurie Saisa and her husband Phil of Athol; his son Michael MacEwen of Rhode Island; grandchildren: Ryley, Evan and Lucas; two step-sons: Jay Lyskawa and his wife Krystal and Jeff Lyskawa and his wife Megan; one step-daughter: Nikki Lyskawa; four step-grandchildren: Ava, Mia, Zoey, Zander; two brothers: Matt MacEwen and his wife Susan of Athol, Paul MacEwen and his wife Judy of Athol; two sisters: Brenda Popham and her husband Mark of Orange, Maureen Paradise and her husband Louis of Orange; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Penny (Clifford) MacEwen. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd, Orange. A calling hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. will be held prior to the service. Only immediate family will be attending the service at the funeral home, all others are invited to view by webcast from the funeral homes website by selecting the media tab under his service notice.
