On June 12, 2024, John Edmond Murray, affectionately known as Jack passed away at home after an illness. Born on September 12, 1933, in Winchendon, MA, Jack's charismatic personality and witty sense of humor brought joy to those who knew him. He had a passion for life, and a deep love for his family. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a cherished friend.

Jack graduated from Murdock High School in 1951. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Germany. Jack's career as a skilled meat cutter began at First National where he worked until its closure. He later retired from Market Basket in 1997. He was a proud member of the American Legion and VFW. Jack enjoyed horseback riding in his younger years. Jack was a caddy and caddy master at the Winchendon Golf course. He remained an avid golfer throughout his life and became an original member of the Senior Golf League.

Jack married his loving wife Jeanne on September 29, 2001. They enjoyed 22 wonderful years filled with love and happiness. In addition to his wife Jack leaves his daughters Lynn Murray and Maureen (Kris) Provost, his son John Murray III, his stepchildren Kristin (Brian) Dellechiaie, Edward (Trisha) Imprescia, his grandchildren Caela (Caleb) Hall, Cameron Provost (Katherine Still), Marcus Provost, and Aidan Provost (Danielle Paille), his step grandchildren Brianna Dellechiaie, Matthew Dellechiaie, Evan Imprescia, Aria Imprescia and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Marguerite Murray, and his siblings, Bob, Dick, Betty, and Jean.

To quote an old Irish blessing, "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand." Jack Murray, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

We encourage family and friends to share their memories and upload photos of Jack on his memorial page. It is in remembering the laughter, love, and moments of joy that we keep Jack's spirit alive within us.
