John J Pollard

John J. Pollard, a cherished father and a respected figure in the insurance industry, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024. Born on May 30, 1937, in Gardner, Massachusetts, John’s life journey was a testament to determination, resilience, and unwavering commitment to his profession and family. Known for his impeccable integrity and sharp intellect, John was a man of few words, but his actions always spoke volumes. His dedication to his work was exemplary, He began his career as a History Teacher and Baseball coach at the Old Ashby High School. He served with distinction as an Insurance adjuster for Royal Globe Insurance, before starting his own business, John Pollard Adjustment Services, until his well-deserved retirement.

John was a man of considerable charm and a heart full of kindness. He was an avid runner and ran in many marathons. John enjoyed trivia tournaments and was half of Team Blue a formidable and winning trivia team. Sports, history, and trivia were among the things he enjoyed most.  He liked going to the beach, he was a fixture at Hampton Beach for years. His positive vibes and uplifting spirit profoundly impacted everyone he met. He was an avid reader and had an insatiable curiosity for knowledge. His sense of humor brought smiles to many faces, and his wisdom inspired countless hearts. John was preceded in death by his father, John Pollard; his mother, Anna Pollard; his son, Glenn Pollard; and his daughter, Jill Pollard. He is survived by his devoted son, Scott Pollard. His passing leaves a void that will be hard to fill, but the memories he created will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved and admired him.

A calling hour will be on Saturday, August 17, from 9:00 - 10:00 am before a celebration of John’s life will be held at 10:00 am at Mack Family Funeral Homes, 105 Central Street, Gardner, Massachusetts, 01440, Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA 01440 We invite all who knew and loved John to join us in honoring his remarkable life.
