GARDNER - John Quarella, 95 of Gardner, died Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at home with his family by his side.He was born in Fitchburg, on September 26, 1924, the son of the late Alphonse and the late Pauline (Parolin) Quarella.He grew up and was educated in Fitchburg, he left school to join the service. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. John received his GED upon his return and earned a degree as an Electrician from Worcester Trade School. John was a member of the Local Union #96 in Worcester, he worked as an Electrician for 28 years. John was a member of Holy Cross Church; AARP, Gardner Golden Ages, Gardner VFW Post 905 and the PACC. He enjoyed bowling and bowled on the PACC bowling team. John also enjoyed reading and time with his grandchildren.He leaves his wife of 73 years, Eleanor (Wisniewski) Quarella; four daughters, Kathryn Keyworth of Gardner, Denise Nordman and her husband Wayne of New Port Richey, FL, Paula Allen and her husband William of Gardner, Suann Chapman and her husband Thomas of Templeton; one son, John Quarella Jr. and his wife Cynthia of West Boylston; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren.He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Mitchell, Anna Dupis; and by two brothers, Alphonse Quarella, Jr. and Angelo Quarella.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11:00 am in Holy Cross Church, 26 Lake Ave., East Templeton. Burial will follow in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 9:15 - 10:15 am at the funeral home.
