GARDNER - John Quinn, better known to friends as “Chip” passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 4th, at the age of 36.
John was born in Fitchurg on November 8, 1981, son of the late Jane Dauphinais. John grew up and spent most of his years in Gardner. He graduated from Gardner High School in 2000. Growing up he played multiple sports and as time went by he focused mainly on playing football. He was an avid sports fan of the Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and yes, the Philadelphia Eagles as well. After graduating high school, he found his art and his passion in cooking. John was a fantastic chef who worked and ran multiple restaurant kitchens throughout Worcester and Franklin Counties.
John was a great friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog Hershey. John also shared his love for sports by becoming an assistant coach in both his local tackle and flag football leagues. He had a heart of gold and would always keep those who surrounded him smiling and laughing. Even after John was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, not once did he ever let the pain stop his contagious smile from shining on. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
John is survived by his daughter, his sidekick and forever little princess Kayla, his sister Courtney Fuller and her husband Matthew and their children, his brother Daniel Quinn and his girlfriend Beth and their children, his cousin/little sister Brittany Labarre and her husband Adam as well as multiple other cousins, his uncle, who helped raise him, Greg Dauphinais and many more aunts and uncles as well.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 17 from 9:30 a.m.-11a.m. at Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks – A Mack Family Home, 105 Central St, Gardner. A Funeral service will follow at 11a.m.
