GARDNER - John L. Woicek, Jr., 75 of 183 High Street, Gardner, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, at home.
He was born in Pepperell, on November 20, 1931, the son of the late John L. and the late Mary M. (Bonnette) Woicek. He graduated from Gardner High School in 1949.
He was a veteran of the Korean war serving in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956.
John was a postal clerk working for U. S. Postal Service in the Boston General Mail Facility for over twenty-nine years retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Gardner American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #10 in Boston, the AARP and the national Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a communicant of Holy Spirit Church.
He leaves two sons, John L. Woicek III and his wife Carey of Victorville, CA; Steven J. Woicek and his wife Diana of Salt Lake City, UT; five grandchildren, Conner Woicek, Maddy Woicek, Timothy Woicek all of CA and Dean Woicek and Kristen Woicek of UT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 29, 2007, at 10:00 am in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph´s Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 28, 2007, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, MA.
