Joseph A. Gaudette, 87, of 120 Highland Ave., Athol, died peacefully Christmas Eve in Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol after an illness.
He was born in Athol July 8, 1916, son of the late Fidele and Beatrice (LeBlanc) Gaudet and lived here many years.
Mr. Gaudette was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of five years, Dorca (Cormier) Gaudette; four brothers, Francis J. Gaudet of Lawrence, Emery Gaudet of Pelham, NH, Joseph C. Gaudet of Ayer and Raymond Gaudet of Berwick, Maine; one sister, Cecile Benotti of Weston and several nephews and nieces.
It being his request, the funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to the Indigent Veterans Fund, Athol Veterans Council, c/o Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 746, Athol, MA 01331.
