Joseph "Ernie" Hachey, 79, of Leominster, died Thursday, December 4, 2008 in the Leominster Hospital.
He was born in Fitchburg, on October 3, 1929, the son of the late Marcel and the late Alma (Bernard) Hachey. Mr. Hachey attended Leominster High School, graduating with the Class of 1949.
He served during Korean War in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He was a truck driver for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, later becoming a time keeper in the office. He worked for the Commonwealth for 22 years retiring in 1992.
He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. He loved is 1965 Corvette.
He leaves one sister, Eva Jerszyk of Hubbardston; one brother, Henry Hachey of Fitchburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Eric Hachey, and his sister, Alice Nadeau, both of Fitchburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 11:00 am in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster. Burial will private.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 9 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453.
