Joseph P. "Joey" Martin

GARDNER - Joseph P. "Joey" Martin, 45, of 258 Pine Street, Gardner, died on May 21, 2010 at his home after an illness. He was born on July 15, 1964 in Somerville, the son of the late Joseph E. Martin and Jane Marie (Vokey) Parilla. He leaves two brothers, Michael Martin and Anthony Parilla, both of Leominster; three sisters, Cheryl Doucette and her husband Leo of Gardner, Justine Barstow of Florida, Michele Martin of Gardner; and many nephews and nieces. Joey was a self-employed painter at various construction companies throughout Worcester County .He enjoyed sports, especially the Boston Red Sox, fishing, music and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of St. Anna's Church in Leominster and the Crystal House in Gardner. The funeral will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 from the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anna's Church, 194 Lancaster Street, Leominster. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
