Gardner- Joseph L. Roy, 57, passed away peacefully on Friday January 24, 2014 in Heywood Hospital. He was born in Fitchburg on October 1, 1956, the son of the late Robert A. and Cecile A. (Gaudet) Roy.
Joseph attended Oakmont High School and worked as an assembler for the Seven Hills Foundation in Fitchburg for a number of years. He enjoyed dancing, coloring, drawing, listening to music and watching the WWF wrestling. He looked forward to attending church on Sundays at Saint Dennis Catholic Church where he was a member.
Joseph leaves behind one brother; Robert Roy of New Hampshire, two sisters; Rita Benoit of Leominster and Theresa Emery and her husband John with whom he lived, one sister-in-law; Mary Jane Thomas of Ashburnham, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents and one brother Maurice Roy in 2002.
Calling hours will be held from the Mack Funeral Home 91 Vernon Street, Gardner on Tuesday January 28, 2014 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A memorial service and burial will be held in the spring.
