Joseph F. Persechino

May 15, 1936 — November 1, 2023

New Hope, PA

Joseph Frederick Persechino, known affectionately as Joe, was born on May 15th, 1936, in Holden, MA. He was the son of Natalino and Maria (Divengenzio) Persechino, originally from Sant' Apollinaire, Italy.  He passed away on November 1st, 2023, All Saints Day.  His life was a testament to the qualities of dedication, humility, love, and loyalty; attributes that shone through in all his endeavors. A man of principle and integrity, Joe's life was marked by a deep love for his family, and his unwavering faith.

Joe grew up in Barre, MA, and served as his Senior Class President at the former Barre High School in 1954.  He was a terrific three-sport athlete, and was even drafted with the opportunity to pursue professional baseball. However, his path led him to The College of the Holy Cross, where he pursued his studies on a Navy ROTC Scholarship, graduating in 1959. Following his Naval Service where he achieved the rank of LT JG, he embarked on a fulfilling career as an Insurance Administrator where he earned the prestigious CPCU designation. He concluded his career at Complete Care Control, an organization within Simplex Time Recorder in Gardner, MA, retiring in 2001.

Joe's greatest joy, however, was his family.  He married Carol (Sutherland) Persechino on July 9th, 1960.  His wife of sixty-three years was the center of his world.  His love for his only son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Jackie, was profound, and his cherished grand-daughter, Gabby, was the apple of his eye. Besides his immediate family, Joe was predeceased by his brother, Oresto Persechino, and sister, Viola (Persechino) Cattafe.  He also leaves his brother-in-law, Steve Sutherland, as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of longtime friends.

Calling Hours for Joe will be held on Friday, November 10th, from 8:00-10:15 AM at Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central St, Gardner MA.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM, at Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St, Gardner, MA 01449.
