WARWICK - Joseph G. Rummell, Jr., 87 of 520 Orange Rd., Warwick, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at home.
He was born in Maspeth, NY, on February 12, 1927, the son of the late Joseph G. and the late Frieda (Reynolds) Rummell.
Mr. Rummell served in the U.S. Navy during WWII stationed in the South Pacific and Saipan. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3 NYC. He moved to Warwick when he retired in 1977. He was an extremely hard worker. He loved living in the country in Warwick and restoring his home.
He leaves four daughters: Louise Meyer of Enfield, NH, Frieda Bauer of NH, Christine Rummell of East Islip, NY, Evelyn Reid of West Palm Beach, FL; one son: Joseph G. Rummell III of Alpharetta, GA; two sisters: Evelyn "Pinky" Muller of Patchogue, NH, Grace Parthesius of Lindenhurst, NY; eight grandchildren: Stephen Meyer, William Meyer, Yvonne Cupp, Valerie Cupp, Liesel Bauer, Lindsey Rummell, Thomas Rummell, Ryan Rummell; two great grandchildren: Nicholas Meyer, Easton Meyer; eight nephews; 1 niece.
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years: Louise A. (Celm) Rummell who died November 28, 2011 and by one sister: Frieda “Bille†Donaldson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Burial will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
