Joseph R. Stancliff Jr., born on September 11, 1973, in Southbridge, MA. A long-time resident of Gardner, Massachusetts, he died on June 25, 2023. Known for his wit, generosity, and loyalty, Joe brought laughter, comfort, and encouragement to those around him. He was a dedicated employee of the USPS, where he served his community faithfully for 7 years. Joe had previously worked at Lahti's Jeep in Leominster, MA.
Joe had a vibrant personality and a unique sense of humor that could lighten up any room. His passions included comic books, board games, and his knowledge of both American and Church history made him an interesting companion. He loved engaging in discussions about theology and politics. Above all, Joe's heart was centered around Christ. He found purpose and direction in the message of Christ's sacrificial love and it was his deepest desire that this message be shared often, guiding those who did not know Christ and encouraging fellow believers in their journey of faith.
Joe is survived by his loving spouse of 20 years, Missa Stancliff, their daughter, Halley Stancliff, his mother, Barbara Stancliff, and his siblings, Dennis Robidas, Chris Robidas, Lori Sheldon, Robert Robidas and Shawna Sypek. He also leaves behind his beloved nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sr., and his brother, Mark Robidas.
As we pay tribute to Joe, we remember Matthew 25:21. ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ (NASB ‘95). His unwavering faith in Christ, his commitment to his family, both blood and church, and his warm and funny nature have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be dearly missed until we see him in glory.
We invite you to share your memories of Joe, celebrating his life with us. Please remember the joy and laughter he brought to our lives.
The Memorial service will take place on July 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethlehem Bible Church, 307 Lancaster St., W. Boylston, MA 01583
