GARDNER - Josephine M. (Locascio) Kymalainen, 94, of 80 Allen St., Gardner, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at home. She was born in Fitchburg on January 23, 1914, the daughter of the late Placido and the late Josephine (Bevilacqua) Locascio. Mrs. Kymalainen grew up in Fitchburg, graduating from Fitchburg High School with the class of 1933. She previously resided in Westminster for several years, and lived in Florida for three years. Mrs. Kymalainen attended the Elizabeth Ollis School of Beauty Culture and was a hairdresser for many years. She worked as a Laboratory Technician for Fitchburg Paper Company, retiring in 1976. Mrs. Kymalainen has resided in Gardner for thirty years, and was a member of the Gardner Golden Age Club. She was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Gardner. She leaves her cousin, Sophie Lacouture of Marlboro; several nieces and nephews, including Thomas Kymalainen and his wife Alice of Gardner, David Kymalainen of Gardner, James Kymalainen of Manchester, NH, John Kymalainen of Danvers, Robert Kymalainen of Fort Pierce, FL, Richard Kymalainen of Athol, David Aho of The Villages, Florida, Richard Anderson of Ashby, Joseph Lacouture of Marlboro, Catherine Samko of Worcester, Margie Leville, Ted Aho, Nancy Lawrence, all of Fitchburg; and several grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Walter U. Kymalainen, who died in 1978. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 105 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held Friday, November 14, 2008 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the John H. Mack Funeral Home, 91 Vernon St., Gardner. John H.
