ATHOL-Josephine T. (Waslaske) "Jo" Ricchiazzi, 70, of 44 Templeton Road, died Friday at home, following an illness. She leaves her husband of 40 years, Rosario C. "Rick" Ricchiazzi; a son, Joseph J. Ricchiazzi, and his wife Cindy of Athol; two grandchildren, Ashleigh Ricchiazzi and Joseph Ricchiazzi, Jr.; a brother, Albert Zasiliaskas of Louisiana and a sister Pat Bernotes of Connecticut; and several nieces and nephews.
She was born in Athol, April 11, 1932, a daughter of John and Bernadette Waslaske, and was a lifelong resident of town. She was a graduate of Athol High School.
Mrs. Ricchiazzi was a dietary aide at Athol Memorial Hospital for 16 years, retiring last August due to illness. Previously, she worked at the former Union Twist Drill and Barre Wool Mill, and had been a waitress many years ago. She was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church. She enjoyed playing Bingo and her grandchildren.
The graveside service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery. Rev. Stephen D. Johnson, pastor of Our Lady Immaculate Church will officiate. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Gardner Visiting Nursing Association- Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, 01440; or to Athol Memorial Hospital, 2033 Main Street, Athol, 01331.
