Joyce L. (Pratt) Lawton

ATHOL – Joyce L. (Pratt) Lawton, 83 of Athol, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in The Hermitage Health Care Center, Worcester. Joyce was born in Orange on April 29, 1934 to the late Anson T. Pratt and Marion (Penniman) Pratt. She grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the Class of 1952. After raising her children, Joyce went to work for Dual Plastics for many years, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed traveling and family vacations; going for walks and especially enjoyed relaxing poolside. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce is survived by two daughters: Robin Brockney and her husband Ray of Worcester, Karen Lawton of Worcester; one son: Mark Lawton and his wife Catherine of Dedham; six grandchildren: Stephanie, Frank, Caitlin, Sarah, John, Luke; five great grandchildren: Ethan, Scarlett, Aria, Daxton, Tess; one sister: Shirley Recos and her husband Richard of Phillipston; one brother-in-law: Pete “Ali” Strong of Athol; many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her daughter Pauline LaFlamme and two sisters: Betty (Pratt) (Grant) Lawton and Geraldine “Gerry” (Pratt) Strong. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd., Orange. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
