GARDNER - June A. (Fucile) Douglas, 71 of 98 Marquette St., Gardner, died Friday, January 18, 2013 in the St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, MA. She was born in Gardner, MA, on June 2, 1941, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Lena (Trembly) Fucile. She grew up in Templeton and moved to Gardner when she was 17.  She graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1959. She was a secretary at Collier Keyworth for several years and worked at the Templeton Developmental Center for 18 years, retiring in 2003.  She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Gardner.  She enjoyed knitting afghans, ceramics and for several years made candles.  She enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun, and loved going to the ocean in Hampton, R.I., and Maine.  She loved doing crossword puzzles with her friend Claudette.  Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren. She leaves her son:  Gerald “Gerry” Douglas Jr. of Gardner; two grandsons:  Michael Douglas and Christopher Douglas of Gardner; one brother:  Brad Fucile and his wife Christine of Templeton; one sister:  Nancy Beapre of Templeton; one aunt:  Margie Sokoloski of Gardner; one uncle:  Henry Fucile Jr. of Templeton; five cousins:  Nancy (Couillard) Henshaw and her husband Kirt of West Chesterfiled, MA, George Couillard and his wife Barbara of Templeton, Gerald Porier of Gardner, Alan Poirier of Gardner, Faye (Richard) Aldridge and her husband Steve of Sutton; her best friend for 50 years:  Claudette Gallant of Gardner.  She also leaves her son’s dog Blue – who she affectionately called “gramma’s boy”. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years:  Gerald J. Douglas Sr. who died November 20, 2012; her brother:  Joseph Fucile Jr. who died in December of 2005, and her cousin Gladys Couillard Salem who died in 2001. Graveside services for June & Gerald Douglas will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Cemetery, 111 Glennallen Rd., Winchendon, MA.
