June Parmenter

Athol- June B Parmenter, 89, died Monday, April 17, 2023, in the Quabbin Valley Nursing Home, Athol.
She was born in Athol on April 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Theodore H. Sr. and Beatrice W. (Smith) Newton.
June graduated from Orange High School in 1951.
She worked for the New England Telephone Co. For 7 years before retiring from the L.S. Starrett Co. after 26 years of service.
June is predeceased by her husband, Norman Parmenter; a twin sister, Joan Songer; a sister, Barbara Hover; two brothers, Richard Newton, and Ted Newton.  She leaves several nieces and nephews.
June enjoyed taking long daily walks, watching the news, and the Red Sox.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the South Cemetery, Orange, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the North Quabbin Regional Animal Shelter, 459 Thrower Road, Athol, MA 01331
