Karen Brown

Karen R. Brown, a radiant light of hilarity, creativity, generosity, and thoughtfulness, has concluded her journey on Earth on October 18, 2023. Born on October 29, 1946, in Passiac, NJ, Karen blessed this world with her infectious laughter and unique creativity for 76 years. 

She spent her career in local businesses, excelling in sales, assembly, and printing roles before retiring in 2005. Karen was an avid craftswoman, cook, and shopper, always on the hunt for the perfect ingredients or the most fabulous bargains. Her later retirement years were spent in the peaceful town of Templeton, where she and her husband of 59 years, Donald Brown, recently planted their roots.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Anna Madsen. She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald; Brother, Raymond Madsen and wife Marijane; daughters, Laurie Brown, Lisa Dembek and husband Kirk; grandchildren, Ronald and Stephanie DeVarney; great grandchildren, Victoria, Brianna, Hailey; and several nieces and nephews. 

Karen's spirit will continue to light up our lives, and her memory will be carried on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 5-6:30pm in the Mack Funeral Home 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440, with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 p.m.
