FITCHBURG - Karen E. Hatch-Taylor, 46, of 119 Marshall Street, Fitchburg, died Tuesday evening, December 20, at Golden Living Center in Fitchburg, in the company of her husband, older daughter, sister and parents, following a nine-year battle with brain cancer.  She was born in Greenfield, on January 2, 1965, the daughter of Jan and Mary (Barney) Hatch. Karen grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School in the Class of 1982.  She attended the Art Institute of Houston, and graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School.  She was a member of MENSA. She enjoyed writing poetry and recently published a book, Mosaic Life, with her poems.  She leaves her husband of 14 years, Ian Taylor; two daughters, Angelina Lesniewski of North Adams and Elise Taylor of Fitchburg; one son, Bennett Taylor of Fitchburg; her parents; one sister, Heather Forman and her husband Keith of Williamstown, MA; two brothers, Dana Hatch and his wife Wendy of Columbus, OH,  and Arthur Hatch of Aurora, CO; two nephews, Lucas Forman and Victor Hatch; a niece, Violet Hatch and a nephew and niece in Australia.  Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 22, from 5 PM to 8 PM in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home 110 New Athol Road, Orange. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, at 11 AM in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.  Burial will be private. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Ben & Elise Trust Fund, c/o Athol Credit Union, 513 Main St., Athol.
