Kathryn J. (Webster) Grout

Kathryn J. Grout Orange – Kathryn J. (Webster) Grout, 74, of 519 East River Street, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Athol Hospital.      Kathy was born in Wendell, MA, June 23, 1940, the daughter of George A. and Delphine (Fox) Webster and was from a family of 10 siblings.   She grew up in Wendell, graduating from Ralph C. Mahar Regional High School in 1958 and has resided in Orange since the 1950’s.      Kathy worked at Victory Market for several years and the Athol Memorial Hospital until her retirement.  She was very instrumental in organizing the Orange roller skating at the armory for over 15 years.  She received the Elks Youth Leader of the Year award in 1994 and the Orange Business Association Citizen of the Month in 1998.  She enjoyed going to Foxwoods, going to bingo, reading, walking and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.        She leaves a son David Grout and his wife April of Petersham; two daughters, Diane Auffrey and Susan Boyer and her husband Randy with whom she lived, both of Orange; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Behrens and her husband Josh, Amanda Talbot, Samantha Favreau and her husband Brandon and Erica Becchetti and her husband Nico; two great grandsons, Mason Behrens and Jason Becchetti; a sister, Joan Gates and her husband Howard of Orange.  She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by brother’s Sonny, Bub and Frank and Sisters Bea, Babe, Sis, Shirl, Phil and Carol.      At the family’s request no formal funeral services are planned.  Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main Street, Athol is directing arrangements.  For further information or to share a memory with the family go to:  www.higginsoconnorfuneralhome.com. $(document).ready(function(){ });
