Kay C. (Burnham) Costa

PETERSHAM - Kay C. (Burnham) Costa, 75 of 121 South Street, Petersham, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester. She was born in Gardner, on October 19, 1937, the daughter of the late Robert L. and the late Alice E. (Murray) Burnham. Kay grew up in Athol and Petersham and graduated from Petersham High School. She worked at the Former Brandon School in Petersham, the former ARC in Athol and retired from Harrington Richardson in Gardner. She was a member of the Petersham Congregational Church.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, spending time with her family, attending band concerts, parades and was active in many community events. She leaves two sons, Jon A. Costa and his wife Lucinda of Athol, Robert N. Costa and his wife Marrilee of Athol; one sister, Nancy Burnham of Fitchburg and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Lawrence Costa, by two brothers, John Burnham, Neil Burnham, and by a sister, Marilee Brunelle. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.  Burial will follow in East Street Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
