Kenneth C. "Buster" Crafts

GARDNER - Kenneth C.  â€œBuster” Crafts, Jr., 84 of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, January 3, 2014 in the Baldwinville Nursing Home after a period of declining health. He was born in Gardner, the son of Kenneth and Ruby (Waldron) Crafts. He was a graduate of Gardner High School, Class of 1947, Cushing Academy, and Tufts University.  Ken was a life member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Buster was a sales representative for Union Camp Corp. (now International Paper Co.) and retired in 1994.  He had previously worked for Raytheon Corp., Heywood-Wakefield Co., and The Mead Corp. He leaves his wife of 51 years, Ruth (Tikkanen) Crafts; two daughters, Martha Keating and her companion DeWayne Gabis of Worcester, Sarah Grove and her husband Bradley of East Aurora, NY; and a niece, Brenda Fontaine of Methuen. He was predeceased by his sister, Sibyl Fontaine Buster was an enthusiastic golfer and was a former member of the Gardner Golf Commission and Past President of the Tufts University Jumbo Club.  He was a 70-year member and past deacon and trustee of the First Congregational Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 11:00 am in the First Congregational Church, 28 Green St., Gardner.  Private burial will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
