PHILLIPSTON - Kenneth D Drewes, age 76, of Phillipston died Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Kenneth was born April 20, 1940 in Craig, MO, and is the son of the late Edmund and the late Freda (Stunkel) Drewes.
He grew up in northwest Missouri on a farm on the Missouri River and graduated from Craig High School in 1958. After high school he joined the U. S. Army and served for two years.
Kenneth was an entrepreneur and had numerous entrepreneur businesses and worked in sales as well as electrical sales. He developed a survival place and used it as an education center for homeschool students so that they could see science in action.
He served as a volunteer for the Salvation Army and at several local churches. He was an avid beekeeper, enjoyed the outdoors, and especially enjoyed hiking.
He is survived by; the love of his life, his beloved Barbara of Phillipston and our dear family; one sister: Jane Anderson and her husband Gary of Rogers, AK and two brothers: Ronald Drewes of Warwick, and Robert Drewes and his wife Rita of Craig, MO, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Higgin's O'Connor Funeral Home, 146 Main St., Athol, with Rev. William Nash officiating. Burial will follow in Lower Cemetery, Phillipston.
A calling hour will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 in the funeral home.
