GARDNER- Kenneth A. Nutter, 72 of Gardner son of Lester and Gertrude Nutter went home to be with the Lord December 27, 2016 after a brief battle with cancer.
Ken was born in Lawrence where he was raised until entering the U.S. Air Force. He lived in Lawrence, North Andover and Andover before retiring and settling in Gardner.
Ken was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Bryant McIntosh Business School and Merrimack College.
He worked as an accountant before becoming proprietor of Nutter Carpentry Services. Ken love to visit his many relatives in Florida, North Carolina and Korea.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to travel and spent many happy moments planning trips and exploring new cultures and customs.
He enjoyed all sports, he loved to play golf and took great pride in his garden and model train set. He took great joy in his involvement in the Mission St., Congregational Church in Gardner and formed many friendships. He never missed a sporting event with his grandchildren and could be often heard shouting "Shoot" from the sidelines.
Ken's surviving family members include his wife of six years Sandra, his son Michael Nutter and his wife Insuk; stepson Ian O'Neal and his wife Colleen; stepdaughter Devon Murphy and her husband Jason; grandchildren and step grandchildren, James, Matthew, Simon, Andrew, Brandon, Shawna, Maxwell, Sheadon, Kyleigh, Wynter; siblings William Nutter and his wife Lillian and Judy Sirois and her husband Robert; and many nieces nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by three brothers John Nutter, James Nutter and Donald Nutter and by one sister, Marie Higgins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 11 AM in the Mission Street Congregational Church Gardner. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations be made in his memory to the Mission Street Congregational Church Gardner, MA 01440.
