GARDNER -Kevin James Fletcher, age 31, of Gardner, died Monday, February 10, 2014 in St. Paul Minnesota following a long struggle with addiction.
Kevin was born December 18, 1982 in Gardner, the son of James L. and Joyce Carroll Fletcher. He was a 2001 graduate of Gardner High school where he played football and baseball. Kevin attended Curry College and later joined W.J. Graves Construction Co., the family business.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. Kevin was a wonderful and sensitive person who battled an extremely difficult disease. He had a family that adored him and many friends all over the country. People were attracted to Kevin’s kind heart, his sense of humor, his wit, and his intelligence. His trademark smile was impossible to resist, and Kevin lit up every room he entered. He will always be remembered for his beautiful eyes and his sweet soul. He loved music and fireworks, snowboarding, riding his Harley-Davidson, driving his Camaro, and he carved out a special place in his heart for his dogs and cats. Christmas was his favorite holiday, and this past Christmas Kevin was thrilled to spend time with his family, especially his new nephew, Luke James.
Kevin is survived by his parents; James L. and Joyce Carroll Fletcher; his sister, Kaitlin Fletcher and her husband Jake Lyman of Gardner; his brother, Billy Fletcher of Pittsburg, PA; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Carroll Niemi of Gardner; his paternal grandfather, Lawrence Fletcher of Baldwinville; four aunts, Nancy Williams of Athol; Lynn Carroll of Gardner; Jean Smith of Rindge, NH; Laureen Moran of Rindge, NH; three uncles, Bill Carroll of Los Angeles, CA; Jim Carroll of Tenants Harbor, ME; John Fletcher of Baldwinville; his nephew, Luke James Lyman of Gardner; and many cousins.
