It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kevin A. King on November 26, 2024. Born to Elaine (Dabkowski) and Wilfred King on March 1, 1977, in Greenfield, MA, Kevin was a beacon of courage and loyalty, whose dedication and intelligence shone through in all his endeavors. Kevin left a memorable mark on everyone he met through his kindness and out-going spirit.
Kevin grew up in Orange, MA, attending school locally until transferring to Franklin County Technical School where he graduated as an electrician. Kevin was known for his dedicated service in the army where he spent 12 years, receiving many military commendations for his bravery and leadership. He served two tours in Afghanistan. He was stationed in countries such as the Philippines, Qatar, Uzbekistan and his favorite, South Korea, as well as various bases in the US. After his retirement from the army, he transitioned into a career as a diesel technician. Most recently he had chosen to continue his education, attending MWCC in computer technology. His passion, however, lay in the simpler things in life. He found joy in working in his yard, tending to his garden, four wheeling, and playing video games. Above all, Kevin cherished the moments he spent with his beloved dog, Zeus, who was a constant companion and source of joy.
Family meant the world to Kevin. He was a doting husband to his wife, Maricris, and a devoted father to his son, John Joseph (Jay Jay). Kevin also leaves behind his parents, Elaine and Wilfred King, his two sisters, Deidre Johnson, her husband Joshua, and nephew, Connor, Connie and her husband Scott as well as his nephew Anthony a niece Audrianna, along with numerous friends and relatives who will miss his infectious laughter and warm presence.
Kevin’s life will be celebrated at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon on Monday, December 16th at 10:00 AM.
We invite all those who loved Kevin to share their memories, leave their messages of condolence, and upload photos to the memorial page. In this way, we can all contribute to a lasting tribute to Kevin King.
