Konstanty E. Safka

Gardner – Konstanty (Konny) Safka, 90, died on Friday, December 23,2022, following a lengthy illness.

Konstanty was born on December 24, 1931, to Konstanty and Aniela (Osnowczyk) Safka. He was raised in Gardner alongside his beloved brother Anthony and graduated from Gardner High School in 1949. He continued his education at Becker Junior College, followed by Boston University where he graduated in 1953 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Konny later obtained a master's degree in Business Administration in 1965 from Northeastern University.

During the Korean War, Konstanty served two years in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his discharge, he was employed at General Dynamics in Groton, Connecticut, and Western Electric in Andover, Massachusetts as an engineer/time management specialist. He resided in Londonderry, New Hampshire for several years and returned to Gardner to live following retirement.

Konstanty was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church in Gardner. He also enjoyed extensive traveling with several trips to Poland to visit family.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Anthony. He leaves his cousins, John Jasinski (Anne), Paul Jasinski (Amy), Joseph Jasinski, Anne Marie Jasinski, Kathleen Jasinski, and Peter Jasinski. Konny also leaves his beloved and cherished friends, The Skamarycz Family, and Mickey and Ann Chapman.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 11:00 in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner, Massachusetts 01440. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, (Rt. 68) West Street, Gardner, Massachusetts.

The family requests that masks are worn.
